Meet Our Team
Dr. Catie Morris
DVM, Owner
I grew up in Layton, UT, and went to college at Oklahoma State University where I rode on the Equestrian team and attended veterinary school. I moved to San Angelo, TX after vet school to be on active duty Airforce as a Public Health Officer. I loved the town and the people, so I stayed!
Growing up, I had every animal possible and always wanted to be a veterinarian. I spent the majority of my childhood riding horses at a local hunter/jumper barn. In high school, I joined an internship class that allowed students to go out and work with a variety of professionals. I was placed in a local vet clinic with a fabulous veterinarian who took the time to teach and show me what veterinary medicine was all about. After that, I was hooked!
Some of my special interests as a veterinarian include spay/neuter and rescue work – I feel like I’m making a positive difference for our community and helping animals that truly need it.
I am married to Micah Morris who is a local Ag teacher, and we are home to a ton of critters that we jokingly call the Morris Funny Farm. I love everything about animals and surround myself with them whenever possible – at work and at home!
When I’m not caring for animals in our community, I spend my spare time riding horses, quilting, and working on projects. You can also find me enjoying many outdoor activities like boating, fishing, camping, riding our side-by-side, and snow skiing.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
Amanda
Office Manager
I am originally from Southern Illinois but moved to San Angelo after I graduated with my AAS in Paralegal Studies with Personal Injury experience. I met my husband, who was born and raised her and we welcomed our daughter into the world in 2022. I have a stepdaughter who is inspired to be a veterinarian when she gets older.
I have always had a love and passion for animals, more specifically felines. I am your neighborhood crazy cat lady! I grew up on a farm and had horses, ducks, geese, guineas, dogs, cats, all types of reptiles, birds, hamsters and even the occasional chipmunk.
I am very passionate about the TNR program and keeping cats fixed and vaccinated, as well as, dogs.
Be a responsible pet owner.
Melissa
LVT / Licensed Veterinary Technician
I am originally from Pennsylvania and graduated from Wilson College in 2007 with a Bachelors in Veterinary Medical Technology. The same year, I joined the Army as an Animal Care Specialist. After 5 years of active duty, I left the Army but kept the transient lifestyle as a military spouse which brings me to San Angelo!
I have previously worked in medical research, marine mammal medicine, emergency medicine and general practice with small animals. I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician and enjoy working in anesthesia and critical care.
Tori
Head Veterinary Technician
I am originally from Colorado but was drawn to San Angelo, TX because there are more horse activities in Texas!
I’ve been around animals my whole life, so it just “made sense” for me to become a veterinary technician. I love being a part of making them better and helping them to be as healthy as possible. I enjoy educating clients about nutrition and prevention, and I enjoy creating a bond with pets so owners are more willing to trust us.
My husband, daughter, and I live on a farm right outside of town. We love riding horses and rodeoing on them, and we do a lot of hunting and fishing in our spare time.
Kassidy
Veterinary Technician
Hi, I’m Kassidy Kypfer, a Veterinary Technician at Prickly Pear Veterinary Hospital. I was born and raised in San Angelo and graduated from Angelo State University in 2020 with a major in Animal Science and a minor in Biology. My passion for animal care has inspired me to further my education, and I began working toward my Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification in January 2023.
I’ve always loved working with animals, but my favorite part of this field is advocating for them since they can’t speak for themselves. I also enjoy educating clients on topics like nutrition and preventative care, helping them feel confident about their pet’s health. One of the most rewarding moments for me is discharging a patient I’ve closely cared for, seeing them healthy and their owners happy. Milestones, big or small—like puppy or kitten shots—are why I know I’m in the right profession.
Outside of work, I like staying active and spending time with my fiancé. We enjoy going to the gym together, riding dirt bikes, skeet shooting, and relaxing at home with our two dogs and two cats. I also love a good scary movie when it’s time to unwind. As the middle child with two brothers, I grew up with a love for adventure that continues to shape my life today.
Hannah
Veterinary Technician/Head Receptionist
Born and raised here in San Angelo, TX. I had every animal imaginable growing up and always dreamed of pursuing a life and career in the veterinary world. I’ve spent the majority of my life raising, rescuing and learning about animals of all kinds. Animals have always been my passion’ and I love being able to make a positive difference, for both people and animals, in any way I possibly can.
Olivia
Veterinary Technician/Receptionist
I am from San Angelo and I am currently studying at Angelo State University. I plan to graduate in December of 2023 to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. I have decided to take a year and not apply to Veterinary School, so I can learn more from Dr. Morris and the rest of the staff.
I have grown up around my grandparent’s goats, uncle’s horses and I have had three dogs of my own. Being able to help with their care is what I believe sparked my interest in becoming a veterinarian at a young age.
I have an older brother and a German Shepherd/Husky named Jake. I enjoy being able to go home after a long day and play with my dog and watch TV. I also, love spending time with my family.
Tia
Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist
Hi! I was born in Germany, but raised here in San Angelo, TX! I am a mom to an amazing 2 year old little boy and 4 fur babies. At first, I tried nursing after high school and came to find out that I prefer animals more!! So naturally, I started studying vet medicine! I am a real big advocate for spay/neuter as well as rescue work. Both my dogs are rescues from both the street and a shelter and I couldn’t ask for better fur babies! I do have some experience with Special Needs canines as one of my pups is deaf and trained to follow hand signals! My dream one day is to open my own rescue shelter and try my best to help the ongoing stray overpopulation crisis!

I love being able to help them in any way possible. I have a cat, Phoenix and a leopard gecko, Meeko.
