Feral Cat Packages

Trap • Neuter • Return

TNR stands for “Trap-Neuter-Return” and is the most effective and humane way to manage feral and stray cat populations. Stray or feral cats typically live together in large colonies, and they are often fed by kind locals.

Does this sound like your situation???? If so, we can help! At Prickly Pear Veterinary Hospital we offer “Feral Cat Packages.” We know that the San Angelo area has an abundance of cats and since we LOVE all cats we want to help keep them healthy and happy so they can live their best lives.

The package includes:

  • surgery-spay/neuter
  • pain injection
  • tattoo
  • ear notch
  • a topical flea/ear mite/dewormer
  • rabies vaccine
  • FVRCP vaccine

This special package is not for pet/house cats, only ferals. The cat must come in a live trap. Calling ahead is encouraged but we will accept feral cats Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays. We understand that feral cats don’t really follow appointments.

Please call the clinic for pricing and any questions!

Have you seen cat's with one ear that has the tip cut off, or a V cut into the ear? These cats have been "ear-tipped" or "notched". This is a surgical alteration showing that a free-living cat has been spayed/neutered. It's part of 'TNR', which means 'Trap', 'Neuter', 'Return'. These cats should never be re-trapped or brought to a shelter, unless sick. Instead, they should be left in their neighborhood to provide cat population control. Studies have shown by just being there, they prevent other cats from moving into the area. And, because they have been fixed, they will never have litters of kittens. Evin if you don't like cats, TNR ear-tipped cats have an important job to do in keeping your neighborhood a nice place to live.
